inspired by the radical potential of zines and the communal spirit of cafés, zine.café is a hub for creating, learning, and teaching through diy media.

what’s a zine?
zines (pronounced zeens) are small-run, self-published works driven by passion, not profit. artistic, political, or educational, zines can take on any subject, and anyone can create one!

zine.café is an evolution of the Trans*Formative Arts Project, funded by the optiMize social innovation challenge. i hope to grow this site into an online platform that supports youth and educators alike in harnessing the power of zines. all the while, i will honor the history and purpose of zines, particularly their embodiment of anti-capitalism, justice, and community. though i want to see zine.café expand, i will actively resist its commercialization.
with that said, feel free to browse these offerings of transparency. they are living drafts, but they offer a sense of what I’m thinking in terms of ‘business plans’
